The use of anodised material is widely used across many industries, as the colours offered by the anodising process are almost unlimited. The coloured anodised layer is only a few microns on the surface of the aluminium substrate.

Using our redENERGY Pulsed Fiber Lasers this coloured layer can be removed to reveal the underlying aluminium. For this application a broad energy distribution in the beam as offered by our H-type higher moded Lasers allows rapid processing of these parts with a capability for removal rates up to several cm”/s. This process benefits from the high repetition rates and the control of the pulse duration offered by our HS functionality.
