Introduction
It is a policy of SPI Lasers that companies with a valid application and potential to ultimately buy one of our lasers are encouraged to request a free 30 day trial using the laser at their own facility and within their own system.
At any moment in time, SPI Laser have tens of evaluation lasers in use around the world under this policy. The SPI distribution partners run similar schemes. This means that laser professionals from any country in the world can enjoy the benefits of this program.
The programme
Subject to advice from SPI regarding the suitability of the application and agreement from the local sales manager, SPI will offer an evaluation laser of type requested and verified as suitable for the task. A date will be given to the customer indicating laser availability and an evaluation contract issued to ensure the laser is handled and protected whilst under the customer's direct control.
After 30 days have elapsed, we will request the laser is re-packed in its original supplied packaging, and using the packing plan shown in the manual return the laser to either SPI Lasers or the local distributor that supplied it.
There is no obligation to buy the laser and no charge for the use of the laser during the 30-day trial.
SPI remains committed the development of an application database: this benefits both existing and future users of the technology. In order to achieve this, we would appreciate samples and/or photographs (jpgs) of the work conducted. If the application is confidential, as some of the work undertaken with our fibre lasers is, SPI will operate under a NDA. Work shared under NDA will not be submitted to the database.
Paperwork
The following paperwork, examples of which can be downloaded from pdfs on this web site, will be required.
- A signed evaluation contract
- An agreed list of accessories and evaluation aids to be supplied by SPI along with the laser
- Agreement that the customer has the free and available manpower to use the laser effectively within the 30 days
