Dr. Bill O’Neill to advise SPI Lasers
SPI Lasers plc (AIM: SPIL), a leader in the design, development, engineering, and manufacture of optical fibre-based lasers, today announces the appointment of Dr Bill O’Neill to the Company’s Technical Advisory Board. Dr. O’Neill is currently Head of the Centre of Industrial Photonics which is part of the Cambridge University Institute for Manufacturing. He has published extensively on the subject of laser-matter interactions, optical engineering and rapid manufacturing process technologies. Dr. O’Neill is a member of EPSRC Peer Review College and is also a member of a number of UK government and industrial advisory boards. He is also non-executive director of Advanced Laser Solutions Ltd.
More recently Dr. O’Neill was elected as a Director of the Laser Institute of America (LIA) to help steer and develop worldwide operations in this field. Dr O’Neill has a strong track record within the applications side of the laser industry and will specifically assist SPI in expanding the use of its Fibre Lasers in high power application (MACRO) market verticals.
