SPI Lasers reports significant growth
100% year-on-year growth in sales
100 new customers added in the last two years
SPI Lasers is pleased to announce that is has achieved significant growth in all areas of its business over the last two years, since LASER 2005. The company doubled its turnover to £7M (€11M) in 2006, and is forecasting even higher levels of growth for 2007.
This impressive performance comes as a result of repeat and new business in all market segments including micro-machining, marking and medical, in all parts of the world. Significantly, the company has gained 100 new customers in the last two years.
SPI Lasers’ application development team is actively pushing back the boundaries of the fiber laser market, working with laser research centers around the world to take fiber laser technology into new areas of processing.
Strategic partnerships with BFi Optilas, A&P Instruments and Veego have taken SPI Lasers into key accounts in Europe, China and Taiwan respectively. Growth in Asia Pacific markets has been strong and continues to be supported in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand by Zugo, while MJL Crystek’s work in South Korea is also gaining momentum. Laser Science has made significant gains in India and Marl-El is supporting manufacturing investment in Turkey.
“We have seen significant demand for our compact laser module in the growing beauty and aesthetic medical industry,” says John Tinson, Vice President Sales. “ And we continue to see steady growth in North America across all of our major sectors including marking, cutting and welding.”
SPI Lasers is expanding to meet increased demand. Staff numbers have grown by 100% in the last two years, and investment has been made in technical research facilities and manufacturing. Production space has doubled to 5000sqm.
